Quick Fill™ Burn-In Stick
Use a knife or the Leveler Card to scrape off the unseen fibers that stick out from the edge of the scratch.
Carefully choose the UltraT Mark Marker that matches the background (lightest) color of the funiture (too light is better than too dark). color the raw wood (the scratch) and quickly wipe off any excess around the scratch.
Choose the proper colored Quick FillT Burn-In Stick and use the Mini Heat Gun to begin to melt one end of the stick.
As soon as the stick begins to puddle, but not drip, rub the melted end across the scratch until it is completely filled.
Using the Leveler Card wipe off (don't scrape) the extra material beginning at a low angle and moving the card to the vertical position to get more off with each wipe.
If there are grain lines (dark lines) that need to be added use the proper sheen of lacquer aerosol (M102-0416; Matte Pre-Catalyzed lacquer, for instance) and spray lightly two times while moving the can briskly to avoid puddling.
After waiting for two or three minutes (or much longer if you applied too much) you will be able to use the proper color of Ultra Fine Graining Pen (very lightly) to connect the grain lines from one side of the scratch to the other side of the scratch. Be careful using the graining pens because you cannot wipe them off with your finger. You can soften the darkness but cannot remove the new lines.

There will be a shiny area surrounding the filled area. This must be removed but must remain flat. Wrap a piece of trace cloth tightly around the rubber sanding block and spray a small amount of Wax WashT Remover onto the cloth which is now very flat against the block.

Wipe the extra Quick FillT Burn-In Stick off and the sheen should be gone. If there is a little sheen remaining repeat the Wax WashT Remover spray onto the cloth and wipe again.

If the repair looks good..stop!

By using this procedure, you should have a professional repair every time using Mohawk Finishing Products.
